KITCHEN PORTFOLIO
Private Residence
Arlington, Virginia

|
This charming Cape Cod house had a tiny kitchen, which was expanded
out the back and completely renovated. With wall ovens, a new
butler’s pantry leading to the diningroom, and excellent
down-lighting, this kitchen is a chef’s dream. The beautiful
mahogany door was moved from another part of the house and restored.

The charming island/eating area allows the homeowner to entertain
family and friends while keeping the main work-triangle out of the
traffic flow. The semi-custom cabinets are coated with a low-maintenance
white lacquer finish, which enhances the lightness of the room.

With
the kitchen completely re-oriented to the back yard, the homeowner
can easily keep an eye on the kids through the bank of windows that
floods the kitchen with natural light. A small kitchen workstation,
wired for the Internet, allows for easy home management.
