This 1970s California contemporary is undergoing a whole-house renovation. The new bathroom has transformed the master suite into an Asian-inspired spa, including a traditional Japanese ofuro (bath). |
| The deep ofuro tub is the centerpiece of the tranquil meditation area, separate from the rest of the bath. A wall of glass block allows in light from the room’s only window while screening the ofuro from the rest of the bathroom. |
| The authentic ofuro is true to the traditional Japanese architecture and design. It is made out of traditional hinoki wood and was custom built by one of the only American companies that make them. |
